Our Services

Indirect Contact
We deliver indirect contact in a safe, structured, and child-centred way, in line with NACCC standards and the Children Act 1989. Indirect contact involves communication such as letters, emails, voice recordings, or video messages when direct contact is not suitable or safe. Our trained staff review all communications to ensure they are appropriate, child focused, and delivered with the child’s emotional wellbeing at the forefront.

We follow robust safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection procedures, ensuring all correspondence is securely handled and clearly documented. Indirect contact is arranged in line with court directions or care plans, and we work closely with referrers, local authorities, and families to support positive and meaningful relationships in circumstances where in person contact is not yet viable.
Community Based Supervised Contact
At Safe and Together, our community contact services provide families with a flexible, child-focused alternative to centre based contact. Delivered in safe, pre-agreed public spaces such as parks, libraries, or community venues, this service supports children in spending time with family members in a more natural environment while still benefiting from professional oversight. Each session is risk assessed in advance, and our trained contact supervisors remain present throughout to ensure the child’s safety and emotional wellbeing.

All community contact arrangements follow the principles set out in the Children Act 1989 and are aligned with our safeguarding policy, lone working procedures, and the NACCC framework. We maintain clear, accurate records of each session and ensure that any issues or concerns are promptly reported.

Parenting assessments
At Safe and Together, we provide comprehensive parenting assessments to help professionals, courts, and local authorities make informed decisions about a parent or carer’s ability to meet their child’s needs. Our assessments are carried out by qualified professionals who are trained in Parent Assess, PAMS and Triple P, with extensive safeguarding experience.
Each assessment is evidence based, objective, and tailored to the unique circumstances of the family, considering the child’s voice, developmental needs, and safety.

All assessments are conducted in line with the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Good Practice Guidance on Parenting Assessments.
We follow clear, structured processes to ensure consistency, fairness, and transparency, and our reports include balanced analysis and clear recommendations.
Where appropriate, we also offer observations during contact sessions and multi-agency consultation to support ongoing care planning or court proceedings.
Mediation and Conflict resolution
We offer structured mediation and conflict resolution services to support separated parents or carers in improving communication and reaching child-focused agreements.
Our trained mediators provide a neutral, supportive space where families can explore practical solutions to disputes, with the child’s best interests at the heart of every conversation. Mediation can help reduce tension, avoid lengthy court proceedings, and promote more stable co-parenting arrangements.

All mediation sessions are delivered in line with safeguarding best practice and are guided by the principles of the Children Act 1989, including the paramountcy of the child’s welfare. Our mediators are skilled in managing high conflict disputes and can facilitate discussions around contact arrangements, parenting roles, and communication boundaries.
Where necessary, we work alongside social workers or legal professionals to ensure any outcomes are safe, appropriate, and clearly documented.
